Tracking Compliance Requirements (IACUC, IRB, IBC, Export Control, etc.)

The Department Manager Grant Module includes compliance management functionality for both sponsored research as well as internally funded research. Compliance tracking is available for grants or research projects requiring regulation from the following regulatory committees:

Human Subjects – Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Animal Subjects – Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Radiation Safety (RSC)
Bio Safety (IBC)
Stem Cell (HESC)
Chemical Safety (CSC)
Export Control, and others.

Multiple variables, including date submitted to the committee, approval date, expiration date, and protocol / committee id number are used for tracking the status of each research project. Additional information including project title, project start dates, principal investigator, and grant proposal number are also stored for each research project. Multiple protocols and multiple regulatory committee requirements may be assigned to individual grants funding the research. Supporting documentation (in PDF or MS Word format) such as application or scientific documents for the experimental protocols may be attached to the grant record. Compliance management reports notify users when grants and research projects have upcoming committee renewal and expiration dates.
