  3. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and accounting software a plus.
  4. Experience with entry level programming a plus.

Position Description

Support- The support desk component of this position starts with "call triage." Incoming phone calls and e-mails from clients are evaluated and put into 1 of 2 categories: training support or backend / database support. If the call can be handled quickly at the Tier 1 level, the call is completed at that time. If not, it is either passed on to a project manager (for training support) or a programmer (for more complex backend support).

Backend Database Support-The support component of this position involves using remote access software, MS Access, and MS SQL Server, for repairing client databases, trouble shooting and resolving problems with product upgrades. In addition, it involves loading and manipulating data sets in MS Access.

Client Training- The training component of this position involves answering support questions regarding the operation of our software products.

Testing- The testing component of this position involves creating test data sets and testing modifications to our Department ManagerTM and College AdministratorTM products before new versions are released to customers.

IT Works delivers software products/applications to departments at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. There have been over 200 installations performed since the late 1980's. The primary purposes of these products are in the areas of grant management and enhanced financial reporting. All development, support, marketing and sales efforts are handled out of our office in Raleigh, NC.

Our products have a database back end and two front ends that have been developed with Java and Visual Basic. The database back end uses MS Access for our departmental version and MS SQL for our enterprise version.
