GRANT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
IT Works provides grant management software solutions for higher education and research institutions. Our grant management software has been designed to meet the unique needs within higher education and research institutes, including the specific needs of individual departments, centers, schools, colleges, and universities. We understand that department, grant, research, and healthcare administrators operate in a complex and demanding financial environment. These administrators are often forced to use general ledger accounting systems as a grant management software tool. Frustration arises because the general ledger is difficult to use and it was originally designed for other business needs and environments, not as a grant management software solution.
The IT Works grant management software solution integrates with your existing general ledger accounting system and was specifically designed for sophisticated financial administrators, grant accountants, and principal investigators. Our grant management software design provides both pre-award and post-award functionality and is scalable, modular, powerful, affordable, and easy to use.
IT Works provides pre-award grant management software solutions for the macro-level management of pending grants and research projects. Our grant management software tracks information such as: proposal type (new, continuation, competitive renewal, supplement, no cost extension, etc), award type (Research R01, PPG, Title III, Training, etc.), funding agency, and agency number; plus a various dates such as budget period, project period, agency deadlines, and submission date. Our grant management software also tracks total direct cost, total indirect cost (F&A), cost sharing, amounts and information regarding principal investigators, co-investigators, investigator effort, and more.
In addition, our grant management software includes compliance monitoring (IRB, IACUC, Safety Boards, Export Control, and more), proposal development, and time and effort reporting software. Tools for proposal development include software for generating current and pending support (or other support) pages. Our grant management software also generates reports that can be used as part an NCI Cancer Center P30 application.
IT Works provides post-award grant management software solutions for grant tracking and day to day project management. Our grant management software incorporates a modular design comprised of grant tracking, accounting, personnel, and space management software modules. The grant tracking software module includes the same features as our pre-award grant management software such as compliance monitoring, time and effort reporting, but applied to active grants. In addition, our post-award grant management software stores reports submitted to funding agencies and maintains schedules for tracking report due dates. Reporting functions include features that track when financial and project reports are due; when projects are ending, and when reports need to be delivered to funding agencies. Reports generated by our grant management software include notice of award reports, annual reports, grant table and list reports and grant versus space utilization reports.
Our grant management software solution also provides for day to day grant management. Our accounting module includes grant accounting components that also include accounting functions for the management of: clinical income, endowments, gift funds, trust funds, state funds, and others. Our grant management software is designed to supplement your general ledger or ERP system. It can be installed as an integrated component or as an independent shadow system. In either case, the result is a state of the art grant management software tool designed for department, grant, and research administrators as well as principal investigators.
IT Works provides post-award grant management software solutions for managing personnel and research teams. At IT Works, we recognize that successful research is conducted in teams. And, it’s the job of the research administrator to help manage the team. Our grant management software has been specifically designed for this purpose. Our personnel module is an integral part of our grant management software solution. It is designed for department, grant, research, and healthcare administrators and tracks a wide range of human resources information, particularly employee salaries and the funding sources (i.e. individual grants, contracts, state funds, clinical income, gifts, endowments, other hard money, etc.) that they are paid from. The salary distribution information is used to generate reports that detect when employee salary sources are ending; time and effort reports, equity reports; and various salary distribution reports.
Our grant management software modules provide an integrated solution. Our personnel module also links to our accounting module to help project and encumber personnel costs. The resulting encumbrances feed the reports generated by our accounting module. These reports are easy to read grant accounting reports that display the names, titles, effort, and salary commitments for employees paid on individual grants as well as other funding sources. Our grant management software generates a wide range of report formats including numerous summary and specialized formats. These reports can be used to manage individual or groups of grants and can be used to compare projected commitments to actual payments. The end result is a state of the art post award grant management software tool that makes it easier to keep your research teams on payroll.
IT Works provides a comprehensive grant management software solution for research management. Our grant management software includes modules for managing assets (capital equipment) space and recharge centers (internal research facilities that bill for their services). The asset management module tracks equipment specifications, ownership, location, and other purchasing information. The space module tracks space ownership and usage information. Usage information is tracked from two points of view. The first, from an architects view point, specifies space by room types such as labs, offices, conference rooms, etc. The second, from a management point of view, defines space according to categories such as research, administration, teaching, etc. Our grant management software links space and grant date to generate reports that compare ratios of grant dollars per square foot of research space for individual investigators or faculty.
Our grant management software includes a facility services or recharge center management module designed for managing multiple recharge centers. Examples of recharge centers include Flow cytometry, DNA Sequencing, Confocal Microscopes, MNR Scanners, Tissue Culture, Animal Histopathology, and more. Grant management software functions include billing and invoice generation, invoice aging reports, facility usage reports, and more. The facility module integrates with our accounting module as part of its grant accounting functionality.
