Eligibility for the IT Works Inc. National Scholarship Essay Contest
Any student who is currently attending or is planning to attend an accredited university or college within the United States is invited to apply. The scholarship is open to students in all fields of study; however, preference will be given to those applicants seeking a Masters degree in research or clinical administration; graduate students focusing on research in the health and physical sciences; or undergraduate students with a focus in the accounting, research, or technology fields.
To apply, students must write a 500-700 word essay explaining the importance of sponsored research in respect to one of three areas:
- The advancement of society
- The need for compliance and accountability
- The use of technology to benefit grant management and research administration
Applicants will also need to complete the scholarship instructions/entry form provided on the scholarship page of the IT Works website, and email the both the form and their essay to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students may begin submitting their essays and applications on November 1st, 2015. All entries must be received by 12:00 midnight EST Sunday, January 17th, 2016.
It Works will review all entries in order to select the top five essays, and will then post those top five essays on IT Works’ social media pages for public voting. The selection of the winner will be based on a combination of factors, including essay content and the social media votes each essay receives.
Each top-five essay will be posted for a staggered four-week voting period as follows:
IT Works will contact the winner of the scholarship by March 31, 2016. The announcement of the winner will be made following the validation of their enrollment at an accredited college or university within the United States by May 15, 2016.
